The Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees(PARSE) was established in 1973 and incorporated in 1974 under the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Non-Profit Corporation Law. In 1981, PARSE was granted status as a non-profit association under the Internal Revenue Service chapter 501(c)(5) regulations to provide health benefits to any retiree receiving a pension from any of the retirement systems offered by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. PARSE continues to offer health benefits that a retiree loses upon retirement as well as other benefits of interest to retirees.
